Here’s a Stop Smoking Tip

Sure, you’ve heard it all before, and, of course, the title of this article is a bit pious, but, really…STOP!  That’s your stop smoking tip…I mean, look: do you want some information that’s really gonna help you quit smoking, or do you want to have your fear played-in to to SELL you some crap?  You’re reading this because you’re sick of smoking and feel helpless about stopping.

Well, if you’re gonna really get to the point where you can stop smoking, I can tell you right now, it isn’t going to happen because of some patches, gum, water vapor cigarette, pills, potions, or other gadgets.  Here’s why: they’re all junk focused on propping-up everything you’ve heard about how hard it is to break the smoking addiction.  If you want to achieve any goal in life, you’ll have to develop a good reason why you want it if you ever to hope to accomplish it.

That’s the trick, that’s your secret right there.  Your intention, which is derived from your beliefs, dictates your results.  If you want to stop smoking, you have to engage your mind.

Set your intentions on why you want to quit…or why you HAVE TO quit.  When you come up with a big enough reason, the work is done because its just a matter of time.  5 years ago I made the determination to stop smoking cigarettes and as of that day, I was done.

You know what took all the time to actually quit?  All the time leading up to making the decision to quit, equipped with the WHY I had (or wanted) to.  There were no physical symptoms or withdrawals, no cravings, no worrying…I just DID IT, and you can, too.

The determining factor is the reasoning behind your desire to quit.  You feel what its doing to you…its common knowledge now.  We both know that as bad as cigarettes are for you…as deadly as they, in point of fact, are, you still suck them down like there’s no tomorrow because you CAN’T STOP – that’s how sick it is, yet it’s just not been a big enough reason for you to finally stop.

The only stop smoking tip you need is this: you control when you stop by creating a big enough reason why you want to (or have to) stop, and that will give you absolutely all the momentum you need to do it!  The same ideal applies when it comes to losing weight or making more money…nothing will ever happen without conscious, proactive decisions being made.  You can quit smoking today, and you will….IF you choose to.

Are Smoking, Drugs Or Drinking a No-No For Singers

A singer uses their human body as a musical instrument & thus it is crucial for a singer to stay in the best health possible.

Smoking, marijuana, drugs and alcohol are all known to affect the human body.

For singers, these factors have a very huge impact upon their vocal cords, singing voice & musical ability. The impact is mostly negative…

Let’s first cover smoking cigarettes, cigars, hookah, those new-trendy electric vaporized cigarettes & marijuana.

Before we do that, it is important to understand that ANY type of smoke is harmful to the vocal cords, the lungs & the body. Smoke dehydrates the body which eventually dehydrates the vocal cords themselves, it also reduces the flexibility of the vocal cords which makes it harder to coordinate the vocal cords. In addition, smoke from ANY type of smoking- whether it’s hookah or marijuana damages the tissues of the vocal cords gradually.

Now that we’ve established the fact that any type of smoking is harmful to the voice. Lets cover how each different type of smoking affects the voice.

Cigarettes- Optimal lung function is crucial in singers. Tobacco, nicotine & tar are all known to harm the lungs. In addition, there are over 300 different types of chemicals which are poisonous, toxic & carcinogenic to the body found in cigarettes. These chemicals affect every little CELL in the body which includes the vocal cords, voice box & the lungs of a singer.

Cigars- Are not meant to be inhaled but the large amount of unfiltered smoke produced & tobacco found in cigars cancels out any “protection” from not inhaling the smoke. The smoke definitely reaches the lungs & causes significant harm due to the large amount of unfiltered smoke. The vocal cords are most affected from cigars. Ever notice why most cigar smokers have a very raspy & beat up voice?

Hookah- This smoking trend has gained popularity among the young generation of college students & high school students. If you are a singer, hookah is extremely harmful. Despite the never-ending myth that hookah is completely harmless since it has no tobacco, hookah IS harmful. I’ve looked up all the scientific studies & research into this, a hookah produces large amounts of toxic substances which gradually ruins health BUT… for singers it is very harsh on the voice & quickly stiffens, dehydrates & toughens the vocal cords. The amount of smoke & chemicals produced from hookah are all very harmful to the vocal cords, even more so than cigars & cigarettes.

Electric Vaporized Cigarettes, Cigars, & Pipes- This new technology uses vaporized smoke produced by either food additives & contains nicotine with no tobacco. So far the health effects of this type of smoking are unknown & not studied. However nicotine is harmful to the body. My advice is to simply avoid this type of smoking even if you use no nicotine to smoke because the food additives used to produce the vaporized smoke could be harmful to the lungs & vocal cords. In other words, better stay safe than sorry.

Smoking is not an option for singers, especially for those looking for a career in singing, it IS deadly. It will age you quicker, ruin your voice gradually, halt any improvement you might have seen from vocal lessons, & cause a loads of problems to your health.


What about marijuana? Many singers, musicians & entertainers use all types of drugs including marijuana to “enhance” their creativity. They certainly DO enhance their creativity & their talents skyrocket- different drug substances effect each person differently. However this positive effects are SHORT-TERM. Gradually a higher drug dose will be needed to sustain the amount of creativity in music & singing before attained from a smaller dose.

In addition, side effects will occur to the health physically & mentally.

Singers, Musicians & Entertainers can accomplish the amount of creativity & talent they get from drugs use, long term by learning how to meditate.

This is another topic & subject on its own.

But getting back to drugs…

For serious singers it is not an option at all! I can understand why many famous singers have done drugs. I won’t point any names but you must understand that these effects are only obtained when you are on the drugs & you will need more drugs to sustain the positive creative effects. Your mental, physical & emotional health will start taking a toll.

If you are looking at a career, you may have a few hit singles from the result of your drug-induced creativity but that does NOT seem all very impressive…When you realize that you CAN accomplish the same amount of creativity by learning how to do it naturally without the use of drugs.

Moving on to alcohol…this again has the same side effect & consequences as drugs if abused. Alcohol drunk responsibly & in reasonable amounts will not harm a singer.

Coming to the conclusion, is smoking, drugs or drinking irresponsibly acceptable for singers?

From a subjective point of view you can certainly argue it to your favor BUT….from a OBJECTIVE point of view it defiantly is not recommended for the serious singer, performer, entertainer and/or musician.

I hope any singers may take this piece of advice for their own good.

Why Do People Start Smoking

Smoking is extremely common, extremely bad for you, and it unfortunately it can be extremely hard to stop smoking once you start. When you find out about all the crazy chemicals that are contained in cigarettes (no, they’re not organic!) and how they can cause lung cancer, other cancers,together with an array of other deadly medical problems, it causes one to wonder why someone would ever start smoking.

Well there are quite a few different reasons that folk go ahead with smoking first cig, which is obviously what gets them started in the first place. When kids are at school they are really inclined to fall for peer pressure because if some other person is doing it, they want to feel cool and slot in and don’t want to be picked on.

This is the age in fact where the bulk of people start smoking because this is the first time that they try it, and even if they try smoking first cigarette and feel sick for example and then don’t try it again for a while, they are still rather more likely than others to start over for good in the future.

Are Smokers Still Thought Of As Cool?

A lot of people feel extraordinarily dignified and sophisticated when they’re holding a cigarette, while others feel that it gives them that bad boy look and though they are going to be more attractive to girls.

In fact, in studies that have been done, it shows that very few people are actually drawn to the image of somebody smoking and so smoking first cigarette would really not make sense here, unless you go back to the time of the 1950s as an example where it seemed as though pretty much everyone smoked and it was actually the cool thing to do.

Of course there are tons of different reasons as to the reasons why a person could start smoking, but there are even more as to the reasons why you should stop smoking.|No matter what your reasons for starting smoking, there are a lot of reasons to stop smoking now!|You probably had many reasons for smoking the first cigarette, but you have many more reasons to stop smoking now!} Smoke odor is another reason (that’s not health related) to quit smoking. When you stop smoking, you’ll stop permeating your hair, mouth, clothes, house, and car with the smell of cigarette smoke. There are lots of different ways to stop smoking: Stop smoking hypnosis, wearing a nicotine patch, or blowing through water vapor cigarettes. Which stop smoking method is right for you depends on a variety of factors including your personality and how often you smoke. Whic h method will make it easiest for you to stop smoking is hard to say – it depends on you, your health, and how often you currently smoke. Generally speaking, the less frequently you smoke, the easier it will be for you to stop smoking all together.

One idea is to reduce the number of cigarettes you smoke each day by 1 cigarette every week. If you normally smoke 10/day, in 10 weeks you could be down to smoking zero! Try different methods to quit smoking to see which will be most effective for you.Some people have to try to quit more than once before they are able to stop smoking altogether.Stay the course – it’s not easy to stop smoking, but it’s so important for your future health and happiness!
